Income generation and empowering the rural people through Medicinal Plant Cultivation is also one of the main agenda of the organization. We provide different agricultural related trainings to the farmers and villagers, so they can improve the productivity and income. Our organization have three nursery developed by the volunteers of our organization. From these nursery we provide free medicinal and herbal plants to the farmers and villagers.
Project Objectives :
The main objective of the organization is to focus on the conservation and sustainable utilization of selected globally important medicinal plants used in Indian System of Medicine. Many species viz. Stevia, Kalihari, Aswagandha and Satavar, Tulsi etc are cultivated. These species have been identified on the basis of
(i) Suitability of selected species to the agro- climatic condition,
(ii) importance of their use in chronic ailments and market demand.
The National Medicinal Plant Board also give projects to our organization for the cultivation and production of medicinally importance plants and herbs found in the Uttarakhand.
These activities will be helpful for the development of a master nursery/ demonstration site as a training center, which subsequently will help to impart the occupational skill development training to farmers. In addition to this the master nursery/ demonstration site generates sufficient income, which will help continue our activity of income generation program for more farmers even after the completion of the project. The proposed training program will be helpful for skill development of the farmers and will increase their economic status.
