Agripreneurship

From Farmer to Agripreneur

Raj Verma transformed his livelihood through polyhouse farming, and now supplies fresh produce to three states.

Since 2012–13 he has cultivated capsicum, tomatoes, peas and flowers in Jhaja village, Solan, working alongside his family.

IIEWS provided financial assistance, quality seeds, technical guidance and market linkages, enabling him to expand and supply markets across Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and Delhi. Today his enterprise supports his family, creates livelihoods and inspires other farmers.

660 Women, One Producer Company

The Bhilangana Valley FPO in Tehri Garhwal turned medicinal plants into a self-sustaining herbal brand.

IIEWS facilitated 110 Self-Help Groups across three blocks, bringing 660 women and four Cluster Level Federations under one Farmer Producer Organisation.

Under the 'Bharadi' brand the FPO produces oregano, turmeric, rosemary, lemongrass, natural tea, herbal oils, shampoos and conditioners — around 50 quintals of oregano every month, letting each SHG earn an average of ₹12,000.

From Cash to QR

In Vikasnagar, the first online payment happens in a neighbourhood shop — on the participant's own phone.

7,800+ people have been trained in computer and IT skills to date, and the programme now drives a mission to bring 9,000 women online across the state.

Digital confidence changes what else becomes possible: bank linkage, credit readiness, and enterprises that can accept a payment from anywhere.
